Wet bag cold isostatic pressing is a molding method using the incompressibility and uniform pressure transfer of liquid medium. The dry bag directly pressurized on the surface of the working bag to transfer pressure to the rubber elastic mold, so that the powder products of the mold cavity can be molded.


The isostatic pressing method has the following characteristics:
(1) products with complex shapes, large pieces and long and thin products which can not be produced by the same method can be molded, and the molding quality is high.
(2) the molding pressure can be increased more conveniently without increasing the difficulty of operation, and the effect of pressure is better than that of other dry pressing methods.
(3) due to the uniform pressure of the body, the density of the body is large and uniform, and the shrinkage is small, so it is not easy to deform.
(4) mold is easy to manufacture, long life and low cost.
(5) it can be used less or without binder.

The advantages and disadvantages of isostatic pressing are as follows:
Advantages: high density, good quality, large volume molding.
Disadvantages: high cost, unable to make special shape.

The operation process of isostatic pressing equipment is as follows: first, the finished billet is loaded into the elastic mould made of plastic or rubber, placed in a high pressure container, sealed, and then inserted into a high pressure liquid medium, and the pressure is transferred to an elastic mold to add jade to the billet. Then release the pressure and take out the mold and remove the formed blank from the mold. Liquid medium can be water, oil or glycerin. But it is advisable to use medium with low compressibility, such as brake oil or glycerol without water. Elastomeric die materials should be rubber or similar plastics with good elasticity and good oil resistance.


Isostatic pressing method:
Isostatic pressing has two types: cold isostatic pressing and hot isostatic pressing. Cold isostatic pressing is divided into wet isostatic pressing and dry isostatic pressing. The mould is in high pressure liquid, and the pressure is on all sides, so it is called wet isostatic pressing. It is mainly suitable for forming products with many varieties, complex shapes, small output and large size. Dry isostatic pressing can form slender rod or tubular billet which is difficult to be manufactured by conventional molding process. Products with high strength and good workability can greatly reduce internal stress. The mold is easy to manufacture, long life and relatively low cost. Large sized blanks can be formed with small machining allowance and cost savings.
